Basic Qualification Requirements (Aviation Security Equipment Performance Certification): Aviation Security Act

Article 27 (Performance Certification for Aviation Security Equipment, etc.)

① Equipment operators conducting security screening under this Act must use aviation security equipment certified for performance by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.

Article 27-3 (Delegation of Certification Tasks)

The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport may delegate the performance certification and inspection tasks for aviation security equipment under Article 27 to an institution designated by Presidential Decree (hereinafter referred to as "Certification Institution") to ensure professionalism and reliability in certification tasks.

Article 16 (Certification of New Products)

① The Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy may certify as new products those whose performance and quality are superior, have been commercialized using core technologies either newly developed domestically or innovatively improved from existing technologies, and have significant economic and technological ripple effects.

Article 25 (Promotion of Purchase of Certified New Products)

① Under Article 17(2) of the Act, to promote the purchase of certified new products, public institutions must allocate at least 20% of the purchase amount for the relevant item to certified new products from SMEs, provided such certified products meet all the required criteria.

Article 26 (Cases Permitting Private Contracts)

3. When the following products directly produced by an SME under Article 2(1) of the "Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Act" are manufactured or purchased from that SME:

6. Cases in which a specific business operator is required to purchase or manufacture special goods, property, etc. pursuant to other Acts, and in the following cases
D. Where a small and medium-sized enterprise manufactures or purchases any of the following products directly produced by a small and medium-sized enterprise under subparagraph 1 of Article 2 of the Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Act from its producer, the period of validity certified or designated by the Minister of State (if the Minister of State extends the period of validity certified or designated by the Minister of State, the extended period shall be included). Provided, That if the validity period exceeds six years, it shall be six years.
